Welcome To Physics
The Department of
Physics was established along with the establishment of the college in 1977.
The T.Y.B.Sc. classes started in 1989. Prof V.D.Kulkarni has been Head Of the
Department of Physics. All other members of the staff have teaching experience
of more than 20 years. The Physics laboratory consists of a General laboratory,
dark room and a Computer room. The laboratory has adequate equipments for
performing various experiments. The Department runs a program to create
awareness regarding Energy saving. The Department also arranges visits to
different institutes like IUCCA Pune, GMRT Khodad, NCL Pune, Dept of Physics, Savitribai
Phule Pune University, Vidnyan Ashram Pabal. The lectures of distinguished
guests are also arranged by the Department.
Our students also take
part in the research activities. They have presented research papers at State
level, National level and international level conferences. They also take part
in science exhibitions at various places. Most of the students frequently visit
to the Savitribai Phule Pune University for the purpose of characterization
such as XRD, FTIR, SEM,TEM, UV etc.
There have been
examples of our students topping the University merit list like Miss. Momin
Samirabanu Bashir. Miss. Shende Nilam Dattatray scored 91% marks at T.Y.B.Sc.
examination in the academic year 2016-2017.Most of our students have been working with various reputed
organizations in the country and abroad. A few of them are also in
administrative services and education.
Prof.
V.D. Kulkarni presented research paper on 25th, 26th and
27th May 2011 at Istanbul University, Istanbul, Turkey (Europe).
One
Day State Level Seminar on “RECENT TRENDS IN MATERIAL SCIENCE AND APPLIED
PHYSICS” on 5 January 2016 sponsored by BCUD,Savitribai Phule Pune
University,Pune-411007,Maharashtra, was organized by Department of Physics,
Rajgurunagar, Pune.
Dr.V.D.Kulkarni
has awarded the Ph.D. degree in 2018 and Dr.V.B.Deshmukh has awarded the Ph.D.
degree in 2023.
