The Department of Political Science was established in 1983 with a UG Program.  

On successful completion of BA programme   in political science, the students will be able   to   understand Indian constitutions, rules and   laws. 

The students enable to develop an   understanding of democracy and democratic   values.

The students enable to acquaint with the   theories, approaches, concepts and   principles   of political theory.

The students enable to understand the   nature and   developments in national and   international   politics.

The students enable to know government   institutions, electoral process, various   activities of   governmental administrators and   policies in a   variety of countries around the   world.

The students enable to understand the latest   developments in the field of political   science/public administration.

Post Graduate

The students would be able to enhance their   research ability.

The students will be able to understand the   importance of political participation in   democracy.

The students will get to know about different   social, political, economics and religious   ideologies followed in the world. 

The student would be able to develop an   understanding of local, district, state, national   and international politics.

The students would be able to learn the   reasons for poverty, unemployment,   environmental degradation, migrations,   ethnic, religious differences and understand   the   politics behind such issues.

The students would be able to know about   the   four pillars of democracy and their   functioning   and   responsibilities.

The students would be able to understand   the   inter relationship between policy decisions and its   effect   on society.

The students will be able to inculcate develop   the feeling of nationalism (sense of patriotism) in   themselves.
