The Department of Statistics was established in 1977. Prof. R. G. Gurav was Head of Department , since that year we offered Statistics for F.Y.B.Sc. Now the subject is run for the B.Sc. as well as B.Sc.(Computer Science) , B.C.A. and B.Com courses.

            We Pay attention to the problems faced by students. They are encouraged to perform better with the help of personal counseling. We also try to improve their mental ability and logical thinking for being successful in various competitive examinations.

          In our department following activities were conducted from time to time for improving the results of our department as well as to generate the interest of students towards the subject ,

-  Use of Computers for practicals

- Organizing Extra lectures

- Regularly taking test on each chapter.

-Organizing guest lectures and quiz competitions.

         We are also motivate the students by giving the additional information not included in the syllabus such as uses of statistical techniques in real life. This orients them towards research activities.
