Undergraduate Program (UG):

The Faculty of Arts at Hutatma Rajguru Mahavidyalaya was established in the academic year 1983-84. With the mission of promoting Marathi language and culture, the Department of Marathi (B.A. Marathi) was formally started in June 1986. Over the subsequent years, the department has experienced consistent growth in admission demand. The faculty is dedicated to enhancing overall student performance through active participation in various departmental literary and research activities. These initiatives encompass the annual distribution of books such as Diwali Ank, commemoration of Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din with special publications, highlighting the linguistic and cultural significance of the Marathi language. The acknowledgment of outstanding achievements through the Vachar Vir Pursakar is aimed at fostering a culture of reading among students. We continue to evolve, incorporating innovative teaching methods, encouraging research endeavors, and providing a platform for students to explore and express their creativity. Postgraduate Program (PG):

Commencing in the academic year 1993, the Post Graduate Course in Marathi (M.A. Marathi) underscores our commitment to academic excellence. The department actively cultivates a scholarly environment through the organization of seminars and conferences, serving as platforms for rigorous intellectual exchange. Faculty members are deeply engaged in research endeavours, collectively contributing to the academic discourse with the publication of 21 research papers over the past five years. In addition to the core curriculum, the department conducts short-term programs aimed at enriching the academic exposure of our postgraduate students.

PhD Research Center:

Established in the academic year 2022-23, our PhD Research Centre in Marathi signifies the department's unwavering dedication to advancing scholarly pursuits. Dr. S. D. Shinde and Dr. B. D. Anuse, recognized research guides at Savitribai Phule Pune University, play pivotal roles in guiding students. The center has witnessed a significant response from students registering for their PhD's, marking a significant stride toward fostering research excellence. Department Highlights:

The department has achieved significant milestones, including Dr. S.D. Shinde received gold medals for BA and MA in 2001 and 2003, respectively, from Pune University. Additionally, 10 students have successfully qualified in SET/NET exams, with 2 passing NET with JRF. These achievements reflect the department's dedication to academic excellence, research, and the holistic development of our students.
