Board of Students’ Development

The ‘Students’ Development Committee’ of our college implements a number of welfare schemes for the students as per the guidelines of the ‘Board of Students Development’, Savitribai Phule Pune University. This board was previously known as ‘Students Welfare’. It has been renamed as ‘Board of Student Development’ as per the provisions of Maharashtra Public University Act. The Board undertakes various activities like Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Earn and Learn Scheme, Nirbhay Kanya Abhiyan, Students’ Council Elections, Special Guidance scheme etc. The Board promotes and co-ordinates various activities for the betterment of the students. It tries to nurture students' mental, physical, cultural growth and improve their overall personalities. The following schemes are implemented by ‘Students’ Development Committee’ of our college.

Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil ‘Earn and Learn Scheme’:

This scheme develops the culture of work among the students for earning money to cater their educational needs. The scheme is primarily run for the benefits of economically backward and needy students undertaking undergraduate and post graduate education. The concerned scheme helps poor and meritorious students to work and earn money to complete their higher education without economic hurdles as such. The scheme encourages the students to work while learning. It cultivates work culture among them and enhances the dignity of labor. It supports them financially and makes them self-dependent even while learning. The students interested in joining this scheme are to fill up the required application forms. The students are advised to open a bank account and the payment is made through their accounts in Bank of Maharashtra. The selected students are given works at various departments, containing office work, technical work and field work. They are paid an honorarium of Rs.45/-per hour as per the SPPU norms. The payment is made as per their attendance sheet which is maintained by the Students Development Office. Apart from the university share, the institution also provides financial assistance to this scheme.

Nirbhay Kanya Abhiyan:

The scheme is exclusively implemented for the girl students with the special focus on developing their personalities and boosting their confidence.

Disaster Management Training:

The scheme is implemented for the young students so that they can handle various critical situations. This training helps them to prevent the disastrous devastation made by natural and manmade calamities. They are given the training about minimizing the devastation by taking appropriate measures.

Special Guidance Scheme:

This scheme helps the students who are deprived of the required minimum knowledge of the subjects. This scheme is implemented for the students of first year of the respective faculties at undergraduate level. There is no limit on the number of students who can be enrolled under this scheme. Financial assistance of up to Rs. 9,000/- is given to the concerned college undertaking this scheme. The college takes prior permission from the Director, Board of Students' Development, SPPU to undertake this scheme by submitting the proposal to the said board. At the end of the year, the college submits all the necessary documents for central audit conducted by the board.
